FUTURE OF SARAWAK IN YOUTH' HANDS, SAYS TAIB.
Sarawakian youths hold the future of the state in their hands in the midst of ongoing socio-economic transitions and challenges facing the state. Pehin Sri Abdul Taib Mahmud said the state was now in a state of transition is more than one sense of the word. Its not only a transition between the second and the third generations of Sarawakian after independence, but also a change of economic structure in the country. These calls for more changes in the education system to meet the aspirations of our young people so that they dont persue their ambition in areas that the country cannot satisfy enough," said the Chief Minister. It is up to them to see what the new Sarawak will be like and what they can contribute towards it. And it is good to bridge the gap between the younger and older generations especially with state leaders and to give youths a greater understanding and insight into the state's progress and future development plans.
